KAUST alumnus (MS, PhD, Applied Mathematics and Computational Science) working at the interface of research strategy, innovation and venture creation. Fifteen years in Saudi Arabia designing accelerators, open-innovation challenges, pilots and academic programs that turn technical capability into funded ventures, partnerships and deployed technology.
Experience
- Shape mission-led food research strategy, multidisciplinary collaboration and translational pathways strengthening food security and sustainability in Saudi Arabia.
- Building a Cultural, Innovation and Venture platform bridging Saudi Arabia, the Middle East and China through partnership-first initiatives.
- Translate regional heritage, tourism and institutional opportunities into pilotable venture pathways with cross-border partners; selected for the Plug and Play BRICS Cross-Border Innovation Accelerator, Xiamen 2026.
- Official regional representative and strategic lead; build alliances and flagship programs positioning WAFI within the region's agrifood innovation ecosystem.
- Launched the sector's first accelerator cohort with 6 startups, designed 4 open innovation challenges and supported 8 technology pilots.
- Secured 2.6M SAR in external R&D grants at zero net cost and mobilized 6M SAR in venture studio resources; supported incubation and venture building for Agilitas, Pollen and NEMO's Garden.
- Co-founded the MEWA Agrifood Tech Alliance and served on its advisory committee, creating a national coordination layer for challenges, pilots and grant access.
- Built partnerships with KAUST, University of Tabuk, the Saudi Space Agency and RDIA; coordinated the University of Tabuk Plant Science program plus horticulture certificate and aquaculture diploma pathways.
- Developed digital strategy, data infrastructure and Food Sustainability Index frameworks underpinning evidence-based innovation.
- Delivered 960 hours of applied instruction enabling 60 early-career professionals to transition into data science roles.
- Adapted curriculum to local market needs and co-developed 50+ real-world projects with partner companies.
